Save $15 on Amazon with Discover

Screen Shot 2016-04-06 at 6.49.30 PMWe found this great tip on Reddit and want to pass it along to all of you.  If you have earned cashback with your Discover IT card, you can use that to save $15 off your next Amazon purchase if you meet a few conditions!

First, and most importantly, you must have a Discover card and have earned some cashback bonus (even $0.01 is enough!)  Additionally, you must have an active Amazon Prime account (not the trial).  You also cannot have used a Discover promo in the past on your Amazon account (worth a try either way).  Then you must complete the following steps by December 31, 2016:

  1. Link your Discover card to your Amazon account here to allow you to shop with points.
  2. Select items that are sold by and shipped by Amazon.  Screen Shot 2015-09-06 at 10.58.15 PM
  3. Proceed to checkout and select your Discover card, and use the drop down to pay with points.  I chose to pay for $.01 with cashback!  Using only one point is enough to trigger the dealScreen Shot 2016-04-06 at 6.44.02 PM
  4. Enter the promo code DISC16EVER.

If all goes according to plan, you should see a $15 credit on your order.  Orders under $15 will be free!  What will you buy with your $15 credit?  Keep in mind, this offer is live through year end 2016, so you still have time to grab a Discover IT card and earn some serious cash back!

Check out our list of 20 travel-related Amazon items under $20!  All of these items should be eligible for this $15 discount!

  1. Just a quick data point, I received a credit from Discover’s pay with points promotion in the fall, and I just received another one today! Definitely worth a try even if you’ve received a credit before.
